The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is the professional body for people working in housing. Their purpose is to maximise the contribution that housing professionals make to the well being of communities.

BRACE is a registered charity established in 1987 to finance research by or under the direction of the Department of Care of the Elderly of the University of Bristol into the diseases and conditions of the elderly and in particular Alzheimer's disease.  Since that time BRACE has raised over £3 million to help support the group which has grown to nearly 40 researchers of which 25% are supported by BRACE at any one time. The team has established itself as one of the foremost centres in the world for Alzheimer's Research and is known as the Bristol Dementia Research Group. The group has been led by Professor Gordon Wilcock since 1984.
