TEAMS ON TARGET

General Information

This event has been designed to cover topics that relate to team working within sheltered housing and to consider how this could enhance service delivery, plus provide valuable support for individuals within the team.

A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content. This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.

Aims Of The Course

The aim of the course is to look at ways of developing strategies to ensure all team players are valued and encouraged to actively participate to ensure that the team succeeds in meeting its targets.  Participants will develop their skills, attitudes and knowledge in the areas of:

¨ Enable individuals to identify the attributes that they can bring to the team

¨ Enable individuals to recognise the strengths that others have within the team

¨ Encourage all team members to actively acknowledge the value of each individual team member

¨ Empower teams to play a creative role in the future planning of the service

Objectives

By the end of the course participants should be able to:

¨ Demonstrate the skills and limitations that they have

¨ Identify ways that they will support individuals to develop their team skills further

¨  Experience working in a team

¨  Understand what team roles are necessary to make a team work well

¨  Produce a chart that identifies the team that they work/interact with

¨  Create an action plan on how to develop more effective communication within that team

Summary

The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied to meet the particular requirements of individual groups.

Participants will be encouraged to adopt a supportive and positive approach to the group as a whole. It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve greater proficiency and confidence through taking part in a stimulating and enjoyable learning programme.
