SUPPORTING PEOPLE: IT'S IMPACT ON SHELTERED HOUSING

• What is ‘Supporting People’ trying to achieve? – A brief guide to the concepts behind Supporting People aims and objectives.

• ‘Supporting People’ Quality Assessment Framework – A brief explanation of the six core objectives, standards and performance levels (participants will have the opportunity to explore these in more depth in the afternoon).

• The Impact on service provision – Participants will consider the likely implications for their organisations as service providers and examine ways of setting up effective monitoring and recording systems that can be analysed to provide evidence of performance.

• Participants will then have the opportunity to reflect on what they have learnt, consider the need for change and the impact that this may have on their service.

• A jewel of information or a jargon nightmare! Getting it right when explaining ‘Supporting People’ and ‘Support Plans’ to consumers. What will sheltered housing users want to know – and how do we provide them with that information?

• Meeting the six core objectives of QAF – Participants will examine the requirements of the core objectives and how they can meet these within their organisations

• Looking at Performance – Whilst exploring the requirements of the QAF, participants will also consider the importance of linking this to the systems they have in place that monitor performance.

• Final session - time to reflect - where do we go from here? The group will review what action needs to be taken to ensure future service delivery meets the requirements of its users and funders.
