Who is the Event for?
This
event is designed to enable delegates to gain a greater insight into the
complex nature of providing support to service users with varying needs
and expectations. Units of study within this training event cover a
range of topics related to the provision of effective support within a
professional setting.
This
event gives delegates an opportunity to learn more about the complexity
and constraints of providing appropriate support to service users within
the context of sheltered and supported housing.
During
this event, you will consider the principles of providing support in
ways that assist service users to lead as independent a life as possible
whilst providing (or arranging) appropriate assistance as required to
achieve this aim. You will explore your responsibilities as a
professional support worker in relation to the support needs of
individual service users and how to assess these efficiently and
fairly. You will reflect upon the importance of consulting with users
with regard to their support needs and promoting a ‘person centred
approach’ when doing so.
