General Information
Sheltered housing staff are increasingly taking on a more professional role.
This two-day course gives participants the opportunity to look at a variety of
skills needed to promote a professional attitude in their work. The course is
aimed particularly at staff working in sheltered housing schemes but could also
be of interest to those involved in other areas of sheltered housing such as
control centre staff or specialist housing officers.A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content.
This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants
will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.
Aims & Objectives Of The Course
The aim of the course is to allow participants to gain further skills to enable
them to ensure they practice a professional approach to the many varied areas of
their work.
Throughout the day participants will have the opportunity to look at and
consider the differing ways in which sheltered housing is provided. They will be
asked to examine their own attitudes towards sheltered housing provision and
look at ways these could be improved. Participants will learn how new technology
is being implemented and discuss the benefits of this.

Summary
The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied
to meet the particular requirements of individual groups.

to the group as a whole. It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve
greater proficiency and confidence through taking part in a stimulating and
enjoyable learning programme.
