Implementing and Maintaining Professional Boundaries

[Up]

General Information

There are many grey areas in which sheltered/supported housing staff and social care workers can find themselves having crossed professional boundaries.  This one-day training event will enable participants to develop their professional skills in establishing appropriate boundaries within their working practices.  It is designed to help participants to identify and understand the importance of establishing professional boundaries and how to implement clear and workable boundaries within the work setting.  Participants will also explore the ethical issues and dilemmas in maintaining professional boundaries.

This event is designed specifically for those who provide housing related support and allied social care professionals working in either a community or residential setting.  It would also be applicable to service users to provide them with a clearer insight and understanding of the need for professional boundaries.  Others working in similar environments or who have a particular interest in this subject may also find the training of interest.

A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content. This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.
