SHN offer a
range of modular training courses, designed for those new
to sheltered housing and for staff wishing to develop
their professional skills and expand their knowledge of
sheltered housing further.
All courses consist of a number of
modules covering a specific area of practice that
is relevant to sheltered housing. Each module can
also be studied as an individual learning pack.

Reasons
and Benefits of studying with SHN
Courses are delivered through
a flexible open learning programme, which allows you to choose to
study by distance learning or by attending study blocks at
regional study centres, giving you the opportunity to study in a way that
best suits your individual
requirements.
If you choose to study a
full course, you will be provided with structured tutorial time
at the commencement of each module of study to give you clear guidance and
an opportunity to clarify any points that you are unsure of regarding
the course or studies in general.
There is an on-line support service as well as
telephone tutorial support throughout the course.
You will be informed of the results of assignments within 5
working days of the submission date either by e-mail, text
messaging or post (whichever the student prefers).
The curriculum is designed to ensure that content is relevant and
topical, covering current and future issues related to sheltered housing,
control centres and other allied professions.
You will have the opportunity to attend additional study days on a
range of relevant topics at any regional training centre at 25%
reduction of the normal cost.
