Mentoring is
effective in supporting staff and enables them to develop their skills
further. Some typical areas where mentoring is useful are:
1) Whilst studying for a professional qualification (such as the CIH
National Housing Certificate). Many courses ask for the provision of a
workplace mentor. Why not utilise the SHN bank of experienced mentors to
give your staff the support they deserve.
2) Sheltered housing is complex and diverse. On occasions, staff may
find this diversity challenging. Working through individual issues with
a mentor can be a useful way to obtain a clear focus in relation to
these issues.
3) Those with a limited knowledge of sheltered housing can benefit from
the unique support that mentoring offers. |
