A New Format of Study for 2010 - Reduce your Study Costs with SHN E-LEARNING!! The National Certificate of Professional Practice in Housing Related Support Sheltered & Supported Housing Pathway and Social Alarm Providers & Telecare/Lifeline Services Pathway How is the course delivered? The course is delivered in electronic format via the SHN E-Learning site. The course fee includes all course material (sent to students via e-mail in PDF format*), tuition fees, registration and assessment fees, comprehensive e-tutor support, student support e-helpline and access to the SHN E-Learning site. * Printed copies of course workbooks and associated study material are available at an additional cost of £50 Students need to be able to use, and have access to, e-mail and / or the Internet. Students will be required to submit their coursework and liaise with their online tutor via the E-Learning site or by e-mail. Their on-line tutor will make contact with them to introduce themselves and plan structured tutorial time to suit the student. Students who do not wish to study via e-learning can study through our traditional distance learning format or attend one of our regional study centres. Price and details available on request. Who the course is for? This course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of staff who work in Sheltered or Supported Housing or Social Alarm Provision (e.g. control centre staff), community support services (Telecare / Lifeline staff), etc. There are two specific pathways, enabling students to choose the pathway that best suits their area of work. The course covers a range of subjects and topics that are linked to service provision. The course curriculum is designed to enhance the skills that are needed by staff who provide front line customer care and support services to service users and also to develop their management skills. The course also provides an opportunity to learn more about the wider issues that impact on their service. Student Support Students receive up to three tutorial sessions between each module of study. This provides them with flexible support according to their individual study requirements. As well as support provided by their e-tutor at each study block, the following is available: · An e-mail and on-line support help line · Student e-Bulletin Board enabling contact with fellow students nationwide · The opportunity to join Forums on the SHN E-Learning site · Confirmation of grade of assignments within 10 working days of the submission date by e-mail provided work is received on time.
