Implementing the Refreshed QAF - C1.1 Assessments and Support Planning

General Information

This event is designed to enable participants to understand how to carry out assessments of need & risk and to draw up support plans & risk management plans within the context of the Refreshed QAF

 

Suitable for

All support staff who carry out assessments, develop individual support plans & risk management plans, review these and key work clients. It is also suitable for team leaders and managers who are responsible for the management of support staff and the monitoring of outcomes.

 

A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content. This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.

 

Training Content includes

  •   The requirements of C.1 of the Refresh QAF
  •    What is support planning - what it is and why it is good practice
  •   How support should be delivered – the 5 stages in the process, assessments, planning, implementation, evaluation & monitoring
  •   Being SMART – the outcomes based approach & links to the National Outcomes Framework
  •   Monitoring & measuring outcomes
  •   How to use the person centred approach in assessing need & risk, support planning & risk management and key working
  •   What is appropriate & positive risk taking
  •   Client inclusion & empowerment

Summary

The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied to meet the particular requirements of individual groups.

Participants will be encouraged to adopt a supportive and positive approach to the group as a whole. It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve greater proficiency and confidence through taking part in a stimulating and enjoyable learning programme.
