General Information
Sheltered housing staff are often required to keep accurate records and provide
reports to others both within their own organisation and to professionals within
other agencies. This one-day course will help participants to formulate
structured and concise reports and develop their recording skills. The course is
aimed particularly at staff working in sheltered housing schemes but could also
be of interest to those involved in other areas of sheltered housing such as
control centre staff or specialist housing officers.A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content.
This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants
will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.
Aims & Objectives Of The Course
The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills
required to enable them to keep effective records and write accurate and concise
reports. Participants will develop their skills, attitudes and knowledge in the
areas of:

Recognising
the need to present information in an appropriate manner |

Being
aware of the correct format to use when presenting written information |

Minimising
the readers frustration by using clarity and avoiding jargon |

Utilising
effective techniques to gather and organise information when producing the
report |

Ensuring
that the report is circulated to the right people in order to gain maximum
feedback |

Recording
information effectively to ensure it is available for future reference |

Summary
The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied
to meet the particular requirements of individual groups. Participants will be
encouraged to adopt a supportive and positive approach to the group as a whole.
It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve greater proficiency and
confidence through taking part in a stimulating and enjoyable learning programme.
