DEVELOPING RESIDENTS RECORDS

General Information
A one day course which will assist wardens and other staff working in sheltered housing schemes to set up and maintain an effective yet easy to use recording system to ensure factual information is recorded and easy to find. Participants will discover the benefits of a system that is easily adaptable and allows both the organisation and the user to review service delivery to the tenant.

A range of training methods will be used in delivering the course content. This will assist in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants will be encouraged to take an active part in each session.

Aims & Objectives Of The Course
The aim of the course is for participants to develop their skills in recording information and writing reports using a structured system, which is simple and effective. Participants will develop their skills, attitudes and knowledge in the areas of:

Setting up tenants records

Recording factual information

Obtaining specific information from a tenant's file to formulate a report

Understanding the need for confidentiality and how to apply this

Reviewing the service delivered to the tenant

Objectives
By the end of the course participants should be able to:

Utilise methods to set up an effective way of keeping tenants records

Demonstrate good practice when recording information

Retrieve information from files to assist in formulating a formal report

Discuss and describe the true meaning of confidentiality

Create a tenants record system which is beneficial to the their organisation

Summary
The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied to meet the particular requirements of individual groups.

Participants will be encouraged to adopt a supportive and positive approach to the group as a whole. It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve greater proficiency and confidence through taking part in a stimulating and enjoyable learning programme.
