General Information
This is a one-day training event designed to assist those who work in a variety
of settings that may lead them to have to handle or intervene in situations of
crisis. The course will look at the cause and nature of crisis and effects this
can have on clients and staff. Participants will develop skills to assist them
to identify potential crisis situations and how to alleviate these. A range of
training methods will be used in delivering the course content. This will assist
in ensuring effective input of course material. Participants will be encouraged
to take an active part in each session.
Aims & Objectives Of The Course
Participants will look at when they are likely to be involved in situations that
could cause crisis and consider how to eliminate or reduce these. Participants
will also look at how they and others could support clients, colleagues and
themselves. Participants will develop their skills, attitudes and knowledge in
the areas of:

Objectives
By the end of the course participants should be able to:

Summary
The course is designed to be flexible and the content and setting can be varied
to meet the particular requirements of individual groups.
Participants will be encouraged to adopt a supportive and positive approach
to the group as a whole. It is hoped that this will allow individuals to achieve
greater proficiency and confidence through taking part in a stimulating and
enjoyable learning programme.
