Training

Excellent course, very good feedback from delegates.Very happy with training provider, will be continuing to use throughout 2007/08

Leanne Harrison, Learning and Development Assistant, Bolton at Home

It was very informative and beneficial, especially the scenario's. Very good trainer, easy to understand.

Coordinator for Elderly Services, Newham Homes

Excellent background on Needs and Risk assessments. Trainer, as always, fostered a good learning environment and presented the subject in a professional manner acceptable to all learners.

D Goodin, Service Development Officer, Sailsbury District Council

Gave good advice regarding Health and Safety and answered questions very well.

M Campbell, Senior Housing Officer, Corby Borough Council.

This was the second time the course was run for staff and they found it more useful - probably better understanding - the second time around.  It was more enlightening having worked with the process for a few months.

Angie Newby, Sheltered Housing Manager, Richmond-upon-Thames Churches Housing Trust Ltd, Hampton

Staff felt confident in explaining the  purpose of support planning to tenants after the training.  This was the second time Blaby District Council has used The Sheltered Housing Network for Training. On both occasions the Staff have enjoyed the sessions and found them informative and enabled them to ensure the tenants receive a quality service.

G Hall, Community Care Manager, Blaby District Council, Balby

Feedback from staff was that it was a well-trained course that provided useful information on a topic which can be dull.

C Hedderly, HR Training Business Partner, Southern Housing Group, London

Knowledge of subjects was excellent and presented in such a way that it related very well to a range of staff's day to day experiences of service delivery.

Alan Walker, Housing Manager, Beechwood Ballantyne Community Housing Association - Merseyside

All of the sheltered housing officers that attended this course were unanimous in their view of the trainer. Delivery was of a very high standard and the trainer held everyone's attention throughout the day.  The aids used were appropriate and the length of the course was spot on. Staff all reported that they had learnt a great deal and are far more aware of adult protection than they were prior to the course. I am confident that, as a result of your course, staff will be able to recognise the signs of potential adult abuse and deal with situations in an informative, professional and confident manner, paying particular attention to the correct procedures to follow. Everyone agreed that the trainer's technique made the learning process very easy and the information imparted was done in such a way that it was easy to retain. All in all we were impressed!

Sue McKenna, Sheltered Housing Manager, Reigate and Banstead Housing Trust - Surrey

The course was very valuable and it gave us the right tools for preparing for the supporting people review. The staff did comment on how they found the course to be very interesting and gave them food for thought when thinking of vulnerable adults.

Graham Hall, Community Care Manager, Blaby District Council, Leicestershire

The course content was very good and met the training needs of our scheme managers. I received very positive response from them. The trainer was very helpful, answered questions clearly and facilitated discussions well.

Helen Scott, Supported Housing Manager, Martlet Homes Ltd - West Sussex

The content of the course seemed to be set at the right level for the officers to understand and they were encouraged to add their own experiences, this helped with their understanding of the subject

Toni Beard, Area Supported Housing Manager, Magna Housing Association - Dorset

I felt the course content was exactly right for the audience. All participants reacted well to the trainer and training and feel it is relevant to their work. It was pitched at the right level and was inclusive.  The trainer was excellent in judging the required format for the two audiences. The exercises and content were at the right level.

Jocelyn Pettitt, Housing Manager, Broxtowe Borough Council - Nottinghamshire

Although I did not personally attend the course, the feedback received from delegates was very positive.

Simon Short, Area Housing Manager, Bourne Housing Society Ltd - Dorset

Very positive feedback from the Wardens who felt it was of real benefit to their work.   Tutor was very good at dealing with negative comments & problems presented by the wardens and obviously had a good working knowledge of the subject.

Lindsay Lamb, Area Coach, East Bradford Community Housing Trust - West Yorkshire

I found the trainer to be very helpful and covered the topic in an interesting and comprehensive way.

Alison Follett, Housing Administrator, Eastbourne Housing Plus - East Sussex

What a great course and tutor.  A really enjoyable course and well delivered.  I really thought their was some meat on the bones of the course and really enjoyed the Presentation.  What a difference to be taught by someone who has worked in our environment.

Alan Bell, Mobile Support Worker, Mansfield District Council - Nottinghamshire

The trainer really engaged with all participants and injected humour into the day which assisted in creating a pleasant working/training atmosphere.    We would like to have SHN present more training for us in the future.

Angie Newby, Sheltered Housing Manager, Richmond Churches Housing Trust - Surrey.

[the trainer] was very knowledgeable of the subject and could relate to his own experiences in delivering services to older customers, which helped to develop an empathy with our staff in their role.

C Mathias, Housing Officer, Quest Housing Association - Liverpool

I was totally satisfied with the course content and the outcomes of the event were beyond my expectation.

Christine Thompson, Sheltered Housing Manager, Taunton Deane Borough Council - Somerset

Gave good advice regarding Health and Safety and answered questions very well.

M Campbell, Senior Housing Officer, Corby Borough Council - Northamptonshire

[the trainer] as always fostered a good learning environment and presented the subject in a professional manner acceptable to all learners.

Service Development Officer, Salisbury District Council - Wiltshire

Following conversations with the delegates I had very positive feedback about the trainer, content and outcome, I think you have helped us to achieve the objectives in terms of assisting staff to carry out a fair and un bias assessment.

Karen Carolan, Sheltered Housing Manager, Norwich City Council - Norfolk

SHN Logbook

I was very impressed with the standard of work done for us. Most importantly SHN pulled out all the stops to ensure we could deliver the logbooks to our team on the very last day. The staff at SHN are to be complimented on their effort and willingness to go the extra mile.

Whilst we accept that we are paying for a service. It was North Lincolnshire Homes that modified the modifications and SHN responded without complaint and delivered on time.
John Healy, Principal Manager, North Lincolnshire Homes Ltd - North Lincolnshire

Excellent Management and Monitoring tool. Enables SHO's to easily track outstanding tasks. Ensures accurate recording of workload

Shelley Squance, Manager, Shepway Lifeline, Coast & Countryside Housing - Kent

I have been using the SHN Logbook for nearly two years now, and was one of the pilot users.  The SHN Logbook is an invaluable source of information. My scheme is only one of it’s kind in the Housing Association I am employed by; I do not have other staff on other schemes to rely on when I am ill or on holiday. The SHN Logbook is an excellent way to handover to relief workers; they are able to see what has been happening on the scheme, and more importantly what is expected of them during their time on site. You will be able to extract monitoring information from it, the Logbook will be tailor made to your requirements by SHN. If you do not use it already I would seriously think about doing so!

Sue Hendry, Housing Services Officer, Ridings Housing Association - Yorkshire

The logbook is a wonderful invention, having everything in one book makes it so much easier

Betty Bond, Mendip Housing - Somerset

For Airways Court Housing, the logbook has enabled us to review and streamline the administration at scheme level to be relevant, accurate and accountable. We have been able to reduce duplication of information and achieve accessibility to information from one source document. This has enabled us to supervise and monitor services much more effectively. For Scheme staff, it ensures no relevant record is overlooked and provides a check against performance objectives.

Pam Vasir, Airways Court Housing - Berkshire

During the Pilot scheme our Managers initially found the task slightly onerous – this was because they needed to keep the existing system in operation as well as the log book. However as time went on they all found ‘The log book useful and want it to continue’ one manager has stated that ‘it organized me and I now feel lost without it!’

Linda Moore, Area Housing Manager, HVHS Housing Group - Hampshire
